The Mokena Educational Foundation (MEF) proudly supports Mokena 159 schools which include Mokena Elementary School, Mokena Intermediate School, and Mokena Junior High by funding academic initiatives, enriching programs, providing scholarships, and granting funds for various activities, materials, and facilities. Our mission is to ensure that every student has access to the resources they need to succeed and thrive in their educational journey.
MEF provides scholarships to 7th and 8th grade students for their educational trips to Springfield, Illinois, and Washington, D.C. These trips offer valuable learning experiences about the state and national government, history, and culture. Additionally, we offer LincolnWay High School Alumni Scholarships to students who have attended Mokena 159 schools, supporting them in their pursuit of higher education and college goals.
Educators and staff of Mokena 159 schools are encouraged to apply for grants aimed at fostering innovative concepts. MEF provides these grants to equip educators with the resources needed to create transformative learning experiences. By supporting novel instructional methods, cutting-edge technologies, and enriching programs that may otherwise fall outside the scope of the school's fiscal budget, MEF aims to elevate the educational journey for every student in our district.
MEF is able to support the scholarship and grant activities through various fundraising initiatives, such as School Supply Kits, School Calendar Magnets, Family Portraits, Spring Flower Sales, and various events. We encourage you to participate!
